Pastor Chen Si-hao is a prominent leader in Taiwan’s Christian community who actively participated in and spearheaded advocacy for marriage equality. He firmly believes that the true essence of faith should be clear and direct—“God loves all people”—and that this love should never be distorted into a tool for discrimination or exclusion. Out of this conviction, Pastor Chen courageously stood up for equality, publicly supporting the legalization of same-sex marriage.
Because of this stance, he faced strong criticism from religious circles and conservative groups, with some even labeling him a “spokesperson for the devil.” Despite the immense pressure and attacks, Pastor Chen remained steadfast in his beliefs. His persistence and courage have become a beacon for many, demonstrating that love and equality should be at the heart of faith, rather than discrimination and exclusion.
